Let me confess. These mugs look so much cooler in the photos than they do in real life...
But after the kids had been using them for a day or two Hopey gave me one of her serious looks and said
So Mum, was there, like, a shop and it had, like a sign that said... Breaking Cups With Miffy and Hope and Sammy's Names on Them?... So you stopped and bought one of each for us?...
I thought it was cute that A. She thought that the cups looked saleable (again, in real-life they are super dodgy) and B. That there is any kind of chance of me ever finding Miffy's name on any kind of generic cup...
But you know, I really like this paint. And I like that by baking it in my home oven it becomes dishwasher-safe. And I even like that my first attempt clearly leaves room for improvement.
Do you ever get the feeling that a lot of people around me are going to be getting painted porcelain presents for a while? Sorry friends and loved-ones! I promise to try harder when it's your turn...

They're wonderful! I'm sure I bought a porcelain marker a while back.... it's here somewhere... you make me want to find it (while the kids are young and can be impressed!). Well done, Mum!
